Tony Grey Bio:Tony Grey, born in Newcastle in 1975, grew up in a musical family across The Pond. Under legendary guitarist John McLaughlin, 19-year-old Tony won a scholarship to the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he joined the pop band “Bliss”. Bliss was soon introduced to Terry Ellis, famed for discovering fresh talents like Billy Idol, Jethro Tull, Blondie, Huey Lewis and the News, and Pat Benatar. Ellis signed Bliss to a major record deal, which propelled Tony on an 18-month Asia and Pacific Rim tour with his band. Several Asian TV show appearances, three hit singles and MTV featured videos, and a Top Ten CD later, Tony left Bliss to complete his education at Berklee. Once again, Tony had access to renowned tutelage – Kenwood Dennard, Larry Watson, Bruce Gertz, and Rich Appleman, among others. Tony even won Berklee’s prestigious Outstanding Performer Award. Since graduating, Tony has led many of Berklee’s Clinics and Masters Classes, and appeared in showcase events – most notably a tribute concert to pop legends Steely Dan hosted by Berklee’s President Lee Berk and attended by Steely’s Dan’s Donald Fagen and Walter Becker.
